Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ instances, IBM MQ objects, and associated infrastructure
  • Monitor the MQ performance and MQ health, troubleshoot any issues, and take corrective action to resolve problems
  • Ensure the availability and reliability of IBM MQ servers and queue managers
  • Perform queue manager backup and recovery
  • Participate in capacity and disaster recovery planning and asset management
  • Participate as a subject matter and technical expert in technical reviews of MQ applications
  • Manage access controls, security configurations, and authentication protocols for IBM MQ servers
  • Document IBM MQ infrastructure configurations and procedures
  • Provide level 2 production, testing and development support
Must-have criteria:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IBM MQ Administrator
  • Experience in Administration, Maintenance, Deployment, and Integration including Installation and Configuration of IBM MQ version 9.1 and higher
  • Experience with security hardening of WebSphere MQ to include SSL encryption and Authority/Authentication Records
  • Expert in defining and modifying MQ configurations such as data sources, listener ports, transports, channels, pub/sub, etc
  • Experience implementing or overseeing the implementation of all MQ objects
  • Available for on-call work (shift takes place approximately every 6 weeks)
  • Experience with System Monitoring Tools
  • General knowledge of scripting (ESQL, Perl, Shell, etc)
  • General knowledge of various Unix, Linux, and Windows Operating systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • German language (OR the willingness to learn it)
Nice-to-have criteria:
  • Experience in Banking/Finance
  • Experience with methods like Agile / SAFe, Clean Code or ITIL
