Tasks and responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and evolve enterprise Oracle database environments (RAC, ASM, Data Guard)
- Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of database systems
- Monitor systems using enterprise tooling (OEM), including alerting and capacity planning
- Diagnose incidents and perform root-cause analysis; implement long-term fixes
- Optimize database performance (AWR analysis, SQL tuning)
- Support and co-manage additional database platforms (MS SQL Server, MariaDB)
- Automate operational workflows and improve system reliability
- Contribute to platform architecture and future technology direction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and application topics

Must-have criteria
- Proven experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in Oracle technologies (RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, OEM)
- Solid background in Linux and Windows server environments
- Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting methodologies
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server
- Ability to work independently with a structured, problem-solving mindset
- Fluency in German and English
- Willingness to provide support outside standard business hours when required

Nice-to-have criteria
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash/Shell)
- Exposure to agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe)
- Experience with additional database technologies (e.g., MariaDB or NoSQL)
- Familiarity with automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Interest in modernizing database platforms and cloud integration
