Tasks and responsibilities
- Clarify and formalise requirements and estimate related testing efforts for projects and change requests
- Define the test strategy and approach for each initiative, including scope, entry/exit criteria, risk-based prioritisation
- Formulate sign-off criteria with involved stakeholders
- Define a test execution plan and arrange for the availability of necessary resources
- Prepare and maintain test plans aligned to release strategy, upgrade milestones, and sprint calendar
- Clarify training needs with users and support the activities
- Manage test environment requirements and test data requirements in coordination with IT Operations and development teams
- Aligning activities with stakeholders on environment and release/change management
- Design test cases aligned with test data requirements
- Coordinate the handover of project-delivered test cases into the regression portfolio, ensuring completeness and quality within sprints
- Ensure requirements engineers are engaged in test case review for upgrade-critical business domains, to complement business input with technical test scenarios
- Execute test cases and coordinate SIT, UAT, and regression cycles
- Organise and support user acceptance testing (UAT) in coordination with business users
- Monitor execution and enhance testing process where required
- Coordinate and communicate testing activities with upstream and downstream systems (integration testing)
- Track and report test execution progress during release test phases
- Track, report, and manage issues (change requests, defects, deviations) found during testing
- Manage test reports and report test results for project management and line management
- Provide testing status, risk assessment, and go/no-go recommendations for deployments
- Maintain traceability between business requirements, test cases, and defects
- Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, estimation templates, and quality gates
- Ensure test management budget allocation in project estimations reflects actual effort (for example 15% of project budget)

Must-have criteria
- Bachelor’s degree related to the area of expertise and/or at least 9 years of experience in a similar position as test manager with focus on IT & finance
- ISTQB certification (minimum foundation level)
- End-to-end test management experience in financial services, covering strategy, planning, execution, and reporting
- Experience managing testing workstreams within large-scale core banking system upgrades or migrations (e.g., Temenos T24/Transact release upgrades, platform migrations)
- Strong understanding of regression testing portfolio management — building, maintaining, and governing a living portfolio of test cases across multiple banking domains
- Ability to coordinate across development, requirements engineering, test automation, and business teams in a matrix organisation
- Proficiency with JIRA, X-ray, and CI/CD pipeline integration for test execution
- Core banking domain knowledge: account management, deposits, lending, payments (SWIFT, SEPA), securities, and trade finance
- Understanding of T24/Transact architecture, versioning, and release management
- Experience managing testing for core banking upgrade projects (e.g., R22→R26, or equivalent) including test environment management, regression strategy, and go-live coordination
- Familiarity with core banking product modules: deposits, lending, treasury, securities processing, and payment flows (SWIFT, SEPA, cross-border)
- Ability to govern the interface between project delivery and regression portfolio: ensuring that every project delivery results in documented, validated test cases being handed over for regression inclusion
- Experience working in a cross-functional, multi-team structure where testing serves multiple delivery streams simultaneously (core banking, payments, document management, securities)
- Experience in working with agile environments such as Scrum, DevOps, …
